LAVALLETTE — The scenery could be changing for beach patrons, here, next summer.
At Monday night’s council meeting, Lavallette Business Administrator Christopher Parlow asked for the mayor and council’s permission to go out to bid for advertisements on lifeguard facilities, including nine ocean beach lifeguard stands, two bay beach lifeguard stands and the lifeguard tower at the top of Philadelphia Avenue.

McInerney arraigned on charges
FREEHOLD — Bartholomew “Bart” McInerney, 42, of Spring Lake Heights, was arraigned on Monday in Monmouth County Superior Court, here, on 12 counts of second degree endangering the welfare of a child.
An arraignment is a formal reading of the charges, to which Mr. McInerney pleaded not guilty.
